The Omani Society aims to support the Omani students in Cardiff during their stay in the UK. We try our best to provide a friendly environment to help them adapt to the British system of education and lifestyle. The Omani society also aims to demonstrate and promote the Omani culture and traditions in different events held by the Union.

We are students who enjoy and take inspiration from cultural events such as theatre, art galleries, ballet, book festivals, poetry events, arts centre, cinema, live music and book clubs. We organise social evenings to discuss and reflect on these activities. A group of like minded people who enjoy all that culture has to offer. A friendly group of people where we can share passions and discuss views openly.
Silat is an umbrella term for a number of martial art forms originating from the countries of the Malay Archipelago. This art is widely known in Indonesia and Malaysia but can also be found in varying degrees among the Malayaffiliated communities in Brunei, Singapore, Vietnam, Philipines, Thailand and Cambodia. The art has also reached Europe, and is especially popular in the Netherlands and France. There are hundreds of styles ranging from animalistic to human styles and schools or perguruan. The club runs every Friday 7pm-9pm and Saturday 3pm-5pm at the Dance Studio, Cyncoed. For any enrolment, please contact Master Nizam.
