Jake's Daily Diaries:

Sŵn Festival (pronounced ‘soon’), the three-day citywide Cardiff-based music festival, returns for its third year in a row; from Thursday 22nd to Saturday 24th October taking place in various venues across the city. Created by John Rostron and Radio 1 DJ Huw Stephens, Sŵn Festival has gained quite the reputation, attracting past acts such as Clinic, Pete and the Pirates, Amazing Baby, The Cribs, The Joy Formidable, Micachu, Black Lips, and Peggy Sue, with 2009 promising to be bigger and better than before.

With an ever growing bill of exciting new music, Sŵn Fest 2009 already has over 50 confirmed acts, including the likes of Los Campesinos, Girls, Wild Beasts, Dananananaykroyd, Three Trapped Tigers, Johnny Foreigner, and Retros featured UWIC band of the month for October, Strange News from Another Star, and for November, Zimmermans. From day wristbands, allowing you entry to all Sŵn venues for the day, costing a mere £17; and the full three-day wristband costing £45, Sŵn promises true value for money. Buy your wristbands direct from wegottickets.com, or in person at Spiller’s Records (the world’s oldest record store, opposite the library in town), or Cardiff SU.
