UWIC Cheerleaders (UWIC Panthers)
Being the youngest society here at UWIC, the cheerleaders have worked hard to get to where they are now, a strong squad of 35 girls all dedicated and committed to the sport of cheerleading.
The society was founded in October 2007 by Coach Hannah Snook and President Angharad Rees and soon numbers increased as wannabe cheerleaders came to flex their skills and earn a place on the squad.
Over the past year and a half The Panthers have become a fully fledged uniformed squad complete with original, dynamic dance routines, exhilarating stunts and cheerful chants. Training is bi weekly in the NIAC, Cyncoed campus. As well as training they find time to fundraising both for the squad and charity and have regular socials!
The cheerleaders have had a taste of national competitive cheerleading and it seems it has agreed with them. They are now even more dedicated to cheerleading with a hunger for UWIC Panther victory that needs to be satisfied.
More competitions are planned for later this year and next, this is something that you can be part of....
